A graduate of the Blanche Macdonald Hairdressing Program (2024), Scarlet approaches hairstyling as an evolving art practice inspired by fashion, culture, and self-expression. She specializes in bleach outs, ethereal and creative colour, layered and razor cuts, blended and impact foiling, soft contemporary colour, alternative transformations, and editorial styling.

For Scarlet, hair is far more than a service - it’s a creative collaboration and an opportunity to explore identity, style, and possibility. Calm, intuitive, and highly visual behind the chair, she loves helping clients either refine their personal aesthetic or discover a version of themselves they haven’t met yet. “I see hair as a way to reflect who you are, or bring out a side of you you didn’t know you had.” Whether you're looking for something subtle or transformative, Scarlet creates looks that feel intentional, expressive, and uniquely yours.

Her work is heavily influenced by decades of subculture and fashion history, from the sharp shapes of 60s mod to 80s goth, 90s club kid culture, and the romance of medieval and Victorian eras. With additional education through La Biosthétique's Coppers & Reds Workshop and Salon Ready Runway Inspired Styling Workshop, along with a background in graphic design from VCAD, Scarlet brings an editorial eye and a strong understanding of shape, colour, and composition to her work.

Beyond the salon, Scarlet draws inspiration from print media, vintage books, album covers, and old runway shows. She spends her time drawing, reading, thrifting, attending live music shows, going to the movies, and indulging her love of fashion and self-expression. She also collects archive fashion, vintage dolls, and books - something people are often surprised to learn.

If she could travel anywhere, it would be Japan to experience the Harajuku district that inspired her through FRUiTS Magazine as a teenager. If she could have lunch with anyone? It would be a table for four with David Lynch, Sylvia Plath, and Alexander McQueen. Her style can best be described as contemporary, elevated, alternative, and editorial - and if there happens to be a dirty martini involved, even better.
